The Natural State has more than our fair share of well-stocked produce and meat markets around the state (see, for example, our story on Rabbit Ridge Farms and Turnbuckle Farm in the current issue.) Here are just a few more in the central Arkansas area to add to your must-visit list

Double B Farm & Ranch, Roland
Located on Wye Mountain, this operation offers a range of premium beef and pork as well as free-range eggs. Order online where you can choose from a range of cuts or select a variety box of items such as ground beef, steaks, roasts, and pork curated by the farmer. Orders are currently taken online only and available for pickup, local delivery (in central Arkansas), or shipping. You can also schedule a farm visit or book the venue for an event. doublebfarmandranch.com

Ferndale Market, Ferndale
Head to Ferndale to shop at this market at the corner of Kanis Road and Ferndale Cutoff. With produce pooled from local growers as well as eggs, meat, baked goods, and specialty items, you’ll find everything you need to stock your fridge and pantry for the week. While you’re there, pick up lunch favorites like a smash burger or salad, or try a ready-to-heat dinner meal. They also have a nursery stocked with seasonal plants and herbs. 501.559.1190 or follow on Facebook

The Front Porch Market, Benton
Part general store, part farmers market, The Front Porch Market is a one-stop shop featuring everything from locally produced milk and cheese to bakery goods, candles, and, yes, meat and produce. As the marketplace of Greenhill Farm as well as other local growers and vendors, they strive to be a resource for residents in the Benton and Bryant areas as well as those who make the market a destination. In addition to products, they now serve sandwiches Thursday to Saturday and offer prepared meals for purchase every day. greenhillfarmar.com/the-front-porch-market

Mother Vine Market, Little Rock
Located on Lawson Road, Mother Vine Market offers both Arkansas-grown produce as well as the best from out-of-state vendors, including favorites like Georgia peaches, Vidalia onions, and California rainbow carrots. You’ll also find a rotation of baked goods alongside nuts, poultry, house plants, cut flowers, and other specialities. Visit their website for a weekly list of what’s in stock. mothervinemarket.com or follow on Facebook

St. Joseph’s Farm Stand, North Little Rock
Badly damaged during a March 19 fire, St. Joseph’s is working to rebuild. In the meantime, they are hosting a weekly vendor marketplace on the grounds each Thursday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. through October. You’ll find produce alongside locally made wares and their Beer Shed will offer craft beer, sodas, and kombucha. Find out more about how you can help their efforts on their site and social media. stjosephcenter.org/farmstand
